Country Love Song: “Dirt Beneath Her Fingernails”

Verse 1
She wakes up with the morning sun, to tend the land we’ve won
Her hands are rough, her heart is kind, as she plants the seeds of our future to find
In the dirt, she finds her peace, where her love and labor release
The fruits of her labor, a feast for our family’s table to share and to savor

Chorus
I love the dirt beneath her fingernails
The way she works the earth, and never fails
To bring forth life, and nourish our home
With every seed she plants, our love has grown

Verse 2
As I watch her work, my heart beats fast
I see the love she has, for this land that will forever last
The sweat on her brow, the smile on her face
It’s a love that’s strong, and a labor of love, in every single place

Chorus
I love the dirt beneath her fingernails
The way she works the earth, and never fails
To bring forth life, and nourish our home
With every seed she plants, our love has grown

Bridge
Life’s Simple Pleasures**: As we sit together, on a summer’s evening late
Watching the sunset, over the garden’s gate
I take her hand, and feel the calluses too
I’m reminded of the love, that she puts into every thing she does

Chorus
I love the dirt beneath her fingernails
The way she works the earth, and never fails
To bring forth life, and nourish our home
With every seed she plants, our love has grown

Outro
So here’s to my love, with the dirt beneath her nails
A hardworking woman, with a heart that never fails
I’ll stand by her side, through every season’s change
And cherish the love, that she brings to our family’s range
