I. The Road to Nazareth
A path of dust, a sky of lead,
Each weary step by faith was led.
A man with purpose stern and deep—
Guardian of a promise he must keep.
Beside him, she whose soul conceived
The very Hope her people grieved.
Her secret, like a living flame,
A holy, unpronounced Name.
“Beloved, lean on me,” he said,
Though angels’ words still burned his head.
This mystery he would defend—
Not by his might, but as God’s friend.
No royal escort, no parade,
But heaven’s light within the shade.
II. The Stable’s Cry
The city crowded, cold, and loud,
No welcome from the stony crowd.
But in a place where beasts were fed,
A birthing bed was gently spread.
The hay was prickly, sharp, and coarse,
Yet Love would chart its own true course.
Then came the Pain, and then the Breath,
That broke the iron grip of Death.
A mother’s tears, a father’s awe,
Before the Law the new Law saw.
No silk, no gold—just swaddling bands
Held in a young man’s calloused hands.
And in that cry—so frail, so small—
The universe began to call.
The stars bent down their silver light
Upon that humble, holy night.
While shepherds watched and angels sang,
The very fabric of things changed.
III. The First Embrace
She held Him first—the salt and sweet
Of mingled joy and labor’s heat.
His tiny fingers, curled and new,
The hands that would make all things new.
And Joseph knelt upon the earth,
Acknowledging this sacred birth—
Not his, and yet by grace his own,
This Child upon a manger-throne.
O mystery of Love divine!
That God would draw this human line,
And enter in through pain and birth
To ransom all the fallen earth.
The Word, now silent, sleeping deep,
While all the world He came to keep.
IV. Hallelujah in the Hay
Let every heart prepare Him room!
Let light dispel the deepest gloom!
For in this vulnerable, small form
Raged Heaven’s quiet, gathering storm—
A revolution born of love,
Sent from the Father’s heart above.
To Mary—blessed, full of grace,
Who saw God face to tiny face.
To Joseph—just and true and brave,
Who every step and danger gave.
To Jesus—Son, both God and man,
Who wrought salvation’s perfect plan.
Glory to God in the highest!
Peace to the people He loves best.
The journey’s end was just the start
Of Hope reborn in every heart.
Emmanuel—God here with us—
Has come to dwell in humbleness.
