Red Clay Heartbeats

Verse 1
Dust kicks up ‘neath my old Ford tires,
Sun dips low, sets the pines on fire.
Her laugh’s a tune that the crickets chase,
Wind in her hair, my whole world’s in that face.

Chorus
Oh, we’re wild as the weeds, free as the fox,
Livin’ on laughter in these backroad blocks.
Ain’t no map, just her hand in mine,
Love’s our compass in the boondock shine!

Verse 2
Fish off the dock with a cold Bud Light,
She reels in a bass, I kiss her goodnight.
Moon writes our name on the lake’s black glass,
We burn tomorrows in a bonfire’s flash.

Chorus
Oh, we’re wild as the weeds, free as the fox,
Livin’ on laughter in these backroad blocks.
Ain’t no map, just her hand in mine,
Love’s our compass in the boondock shine!

Bridge
Storm rolled in, tore the oaks in two—
She just danced barefoot, sang the thunder through.
“Ain’t no city light got a thing on us,”
We got dirt-road dreams and rebel dust.

Chorus
Oh, we’re wild as the weeds, free as the fox,
Livin’ on laughter in these backroad blocks.
Ain’t no map, just her hand in mine,
Love’s our compass in the boondock shine!

Outro
When the stars hang low like her porch swing curves,
We’ll be two old ghosts, still hummin’ these words:
“Boondock hearts beat steady and true,
Me, my girl, and a sky forever blue.”
