Thunder Rolls, Lightning Strikes

(Verse 1)
Dark clouds drape the prairie sky,
Wind whips the pines, a lonesome cry.
Porch swing creaks like a heart undone,
I’m right here waitin’ when the rain comes.

(Pre-Chorus)
The air’s got a charge, like a heartache’s spark,
Silence breaks wide—lightning tattoos the dark.

(Chorus)
Oh, thunder rolls, lightning strikes,
Sky’s alive with heaven’s fight.
You’re gone like a shadow in the blue-eyed night,
But this storm’s got my wildfire eyes.
Thunder rolls, lightning strikes.

(Verse 2)
Rain taps the tin roof, a reckless song,
Lightning cracks where I don’t belong.
Boots soaked through, but I can’t retreat—
The ghosts in this tempest ain’t done with me.

(Chorus)
Oh, thunder rolls, lightning strikes,
Sky’s alive with heaven’s fight.
You’re gone like a shadow in the blue-eyed night,
But this storm’s got my wildfire eyes.
Thunder rolls, lightning strikes.

(Bridge)
A church bell hums through the drownin’ town,
Train tracks hum where the past broke down.
Every crash, every flash—it’s your name I taste,
A love like weather, too wild to chase.

(Outro)
When the last bolt fades to a distant hum,
I’ll still be here…
Where the thunder’s from.
