Forever Grateful

On this hallowed Memorial Day,
We pause to honor, reflect, and pray
For those brave souls who gave their all,
Answering freedom’s noble call.

From battles past to present day,
Heroes who chose the warrior’s way,
Their sacrifice, a precious gift,
Our nation’s spirit they did lift.

Through trenches deep and skies above,
They fought with courage, strength, and love,
For liberty, they took their stand,
Protecting home and native land.

Mothers, fathers, daughters, sons,
Behind each name, a story runs
Of dreams cut short and lives laid down,
So freedom’s light could still be found.

In peaceful fields where markers white
Stand sentinel through day and night,
We remember those who gave their best,
That we might live, so richly blessed.

To those who serve in present time,
Standing guard in every clime,
We thank you for your service true,
Our gratitude forever due.

Let not their memory fade away,
As years roll on from day to day,
For freedom’s price was dearly paid,
By heroes in their final grade.

So raise the flag with solemn pride,
Remember those who fought and died,
Their legacy forever stands,
Protecting these United lands.

On this day and all year through,
We honor them – the brave, the few,
Who gave their lives that we might be
Forever blessed with liberty.
